The research groups listed here represent just of the few focal areas in which staff of CASSM are working and seeking to develop seeking to develop collaborative research and development links.

The FBMIS Group, is concerned with Forest Biometry, Modelling and Information Sciences. It is responsible  for managing and coordinating the e-journal FBMIS,  and the Forest Model Archive (FMA). It was also a partner in the EU NEFIS project, 2003-2006, and is a participant in the EU  COST Action FP0603.

The Data Mining Group is involved in teaching & training, research and consultancy on all aspects of this area of data mining, data warehousing, and more generally knowledge discovery for business-intelligence.

The Software Metrics and Software Reliability Groups were started in 2003 with the aim of developing leading expertise in these crucial areas of Empirical Software Engineering.
