History
The first meeting was held as a one week short course during summer 2000 at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It was organised by Dr. Alfred Loo, Hong Kong Lingnan University, and Dr. P. T. Ho, University of Hong Kong, in conjunction with the British Computer Society - Hong Kong Chapter. The short course attracted some 35 participants from neighbourhood districts. Professor Guo, Wuhan University of Technology, was among the participants and proposed the organisation of a conference series to address the use of distributed computing in business, engineering and sciences. The first meeting was held at Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, and the second meeting was held at Southern Yangtze University, Wuxi.
The series of meetings is now becoming an important international event on various applications and the related computing environments of distributed and grid computing.
